Slide design for Easy Theme – tutorial

This is a quick and basic tutorial on how to recreate the Slide theme in Easy Theme.
1] Download Easy Theme (if you haven’t already) and add the plug-in to your Elgg installation.
2] In your graphics program, create an image that copies the yellow logo bar, and the grey slider background, in one image. Save as ‘headimg.jpg’ in the ‘easytheme/graphics’ folder…
This image will be quite high (the image above is 399px), so go the Easy Theme settings page and change the height of the header image to match.
Your theme should now look something like this:
3] To add the logo… First you need to save your logo in ‘easytheme/graphics’
~> Next open the file ‘easytheme/views/default/page/elements/header_logo.php’
~> Then “comment out” the site name code, and use the logo code instead [see image below]. Remember to change the site and image links, to link to your own site, and change the details of your logo (name, size etc…). [ + remove the incorrect target code ].
4] Add the code for your content slider in the same file [see image above].
And that’s all!
Have you seen my White Slide theme? White Slide is a neutral white theme with a working content slider already included.
